About Shout

Online should feel like being there.

Software has always been organised around documents: files, boards, canvases, threads. Things you open, edit, save and come back to. That serves work that can wait. It fails the moments that can't: a question asked to a room, a vote while the stream is live, a score as the game unfolds, a laugh shared with friends. Those moments are what being together is made of, and online they have always been an afterthought.

Shout is organised around moments, not documents.

Small realtime apps (a poll, a scoreboard, a board, a canvas, a table) that anyone joins with a link, in the time it takes to say "look at this". Underneath runs Thuum, so everyone sees the same thing at the same time. Shout is Thuum's vision made tangible, and a different answer to what online can mean.

Why we build it

The world went remote fast. We got video calls and shared documents, and we lost the room: the glance across the table, the hands going up, the noise when something lands. The tools we were handed are excellent at one thing each (a kanban board, a whiteboard, a diagram), and none of them is about the people in it. Anyone who has built networked software long enough knows this:

Bandwidth was never the problem. Presence was.

Our mission

Give creators live apps that are instant to share, enable realtime interactivity, are fair to pay for, and are theirs.

Who we serve

People who bring others together online: streamers and content creators, teachers and instructors, and friends hanging out.

Our values

Three pillars, and they lean on each other: it starts with you, everything is ready for you, and it all happens now.

You

Your room, your rules.

Your space, your contents and your audience belong to you. Invite whoever you want, stay as long as you want, leave whenever you want. We're here to make the room work, not to own it.

  • Your space

Your space is yours. Anyone with your link is in, and you decide what it opens and when it closes.

  • Your choice

Stay as long as you want, as big or as small as you want. Credit never expires, prices never change under your feet, refunds are yours to ask for.

  • You're not the product

Your data and your guests' are never shared, never sold. When you leave, everything is wiped and your credit comes back to you.

Ready

Do your thing, forget the tools.

Hosting a stream, running a class, getting friends together: being the one in front is daunting enough without having to prepare the tools too. Shout is ready before you are. You walk in, it works, and your attention stays where it belongs: on the people.

  • No preparation

Nothing to install, nothing to configure, no accounts for your guests. Defaults that just work.

  • Live the moment

We take care of the heavy lifting, so you can focus on the people in front of you, not on the software.

Now

Everything is live.

A stream, a meeting, a night with friends: none of them waits, so nothing in Shout should either. Open an app and it's running. Share a link and people are in. A vote lands the moment it's cast; a score moves as the game moves. Nothing stands between people and the moment.

  • Instant to start

One click opens an activity; one link brings people in.

  • Interact in realtime

Vote, play, draw, react, together, as it happens. Everyone sees the same thing at the same moment, as if they shared the room.

What Shout won't do

  • Tell you who can come, or how long to stay.
  • Surprise you with a bill, or keep your credit when you leave.
  • Sell or share your data, or your guests'.
  • Make you prepare before you can start, or ask your guests to sign up.
  • Make you wait for the moment.

Shout is powered by Thuum, and it agrees with and operates under Thuum's mission and values.
